Orbán, Áder Send Condolences Over Kazan School Shooting

Prime Minister Viktor Orbán sent letters of condolences to Russian President Vladimir Putin and Tatarstan’s President Rustam Minnikhanov over the school shooting in Kazan on Tuesday, Orbán’s press chief said.

 

Bertalan Havasi said Orbán had sent his condolences on behalf of the Hungarian government and the people of Hungary. “I was deeply shocked to learn about the horrible terrorist attack carried out against school Number 175 in Kazan,” Orbán said in his letter. The prime minister wished a quick recovery to those injured, Havasi added.

President János Áder has sent a telegram of condolences to Russian President Vladimir Putin over the school shooting in Kazan on Tuesday, his office told MTI. Áder said he was deeply shocked to learn about the tragedy in which several children and adults died, the office said. “Let me express on my and my fellow Hungarians’ behalf our sincere condolences to the families and the relatives of the victims,” the office quoted Áder as saying. “We share their pain and extend our sympathy to those injured, as well as to the traumatised students and their teachers,” the president said and wished them speedy physical and psychological recovery.
