Two men were killed last Wednesday in Szeged, and the police arrested the suspect within a short period of time, a spokesman for the Csongrád-Csanád County Police Headquarters reported.
Szilvia Szabó said the suspect was spotted by police officers in the city center after 8 pm on Wednesday and they stopped him for violating the curfew. Police officers noticed the man’s confused behavior and the blood on his clothes. He was questioned, at which point he said he had killed two people not long before.
The alleged perpetrator abused two men in a small forest in Szeged and then stabbed them with a knife. Both victims died at the scene, the spokesman said.
Investigators initiated the 31-year-old man’s arrest. He was prosecuted on suspicion of murder for several people, the captain said.
