By late evening, firefighters managed to delimit the flames at the Felgyő Regional Waste Management Center, where the fire broke out around noon on Sunday, the disaster management announced on its website.
The fire was being extinguished by professional and volunteer firefighters from eleven municipalities under the direction of the disaster prevention operations service. The disaster prevention mobile laboratory carried out measurements in the nearby settlements, Tömörkeny, Felgyő and Csanytelek, as well as in the surrounding farm world, but no harmful concentrations of pollutants were detected in the air.
Due to the extensive fire and the time-consuming exploration of the hot spots, prolonged work should be expected – they wrote.
